WASHINGTON, D.C.: The three-part series Live Like An Animal from Tigress Productions is to premiere globally in all Nat Geo Wild territories in 2012.

The show follows an intrepid team who will occupy human-scale recreations of some of the animal kingdom’s most impressive architectural structures (a beaver lodge, swallows’ nest, wasp nest, etc). The recreated habitats will be viewable to passers-by. The design, construction and occupation of these structures, along with the public’s interaction, will be documented in the series.

Following the global premiere on Nat Geo Wild, Live Like An Animal will air on the U.K.’s Channel 5.

Geoff Daniels, Nat Geo Wild’s senior VP, said, “We are delighted to work with Tigress Productions on this ambitious and innovative series.   What better way to showcase the brilliance of these incredible architects of the animal world than to reconstruct their ingenious dwellings to human scale? This is a unique new entry approach to natural history, and is sure to entertain, amaze and delight viewers of all ages.”

Tigress’ Kath Moore added, “The way Nat Geo Wild has embraced this project is beyond refreshing. The team is all fired up and already unearthing fascinating facts which will, in turn, become key elements of the construction process. But, experimenting with design on a massive scale never works exactly according to plan and Lloyd, Matt and James will have to do a lot of critical thinking on their feet to pull off this incredible challenge.”
