MTVNLA Appoints SVP of Creative, Content & Music

MIAMI: Fernando Gastón is to serve as senior VP of creative, content and music for MTV and VH1 in Latin America, replacing Jose Tillan, who was recently appointed general manager of MTV TR3s in the U.S.

Gastón will relocate to Miami from Buenos Aires and will report into Sofia Ioannou, the managing director of MTV Networks Latin America, and Antonio Campo Dall”Orta, the executive VP of music brands and managing director of South Europe for MTV Networks International. Gastón will be responsible for directing the content and creative business strategy for MTV and VH1 Latin America at the pan-regional level and in coordination with the company’s general managers in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. He will also oversee the music content for both brands. In addition, Gastón will support MTV Networks International’s programming division, which develops and implements content for MTV’s international network of channels. Prior to this, Gastón was VP of content for MTV and VH1 Argentina.

“Fernando’s extensive creative and production background make him the perfect fit for this position,” commented Ioannou. “Since joining MTVNLA, he has done an amazing job developing relevant content for Latin America and International. I am certain that his vision and expertise will be an invaluable asset as we continue to implement a creative and organizational model that cultivates collaboration and leverages our global and local strengths.”
