MTVNI Offers Up Digital Rights to South Park

CANNES/LONDON, April 17: MTV Networks International
is in Cannes this week offering international platforms the digital media
content rights to Comedy Central’s long-running, award-winning animated series South
Park
.

The move is being billed as a significant step
forward in MTVNI's global digital sales strategy and extends the South Park
franchise from TV and consumer products into a multiplatform offering globally.
Gideon Bierer, MTVNI's SVP of digital media, noted: "Viewers today get
content and entertainment in multiple ways on multiple platforms. MTVNI's aim is to be wherever our
audience is. It's hard to imagine a property better suited to digital platforms
than South Park, so we're delighted to be in a position to offer
Kyle, Stan, Kenny and Cartman online and on mobile globally.”

MTVNI is seeking to partner with mobile phone
operators, online companies and device manufacturers to create a mix of South
Park
digital products, including mobile video, online
streaming, PC video downloads and mobile personalization products.

The show, which celebrated its tenth anniversary
last year, is watched in 15 languages across 138 territories including the U.K.
(Paramount Comedy), Germany (RTL), Canada (The Comedy Network), Japan (Kuzui
Enterprises) and Spain (Antena 3).
