MTVNI Names Program Sales SVP

LONDON: Caroline Beaton, formerly of Action Time and Road Trip Media, is returning to MTV Networks International (MTVNI) to take up the post of senior VP of international program sales, effective immediately.

Beaton, based in London, is charge with aligning the strategic direction of the international program sales division and working across all MTV Networks platforms to expand the distribution of the company’s catalogue of titles. She will also continue to oversee the expansion of MTVNI’s  format library—which she has been doing since becoming a consultant for the company last year—and will pursue co-production financing opportunities in the areas of kids, young people and music content. She has also assumed a seat on the MTVNI Programming Council and will serve as the direct report for regional sales team heads based in Asia Pacific, Europe, Japan and Latin America. Beaton reports to Steve Grieder, the executive VP of Nickelodeon and of program sales at MTVNI.

“Caroline’s deep knowledge of the industry coupled with her expert insights into multiplatform trends and her ability to identify co-production and formats rights potential will be instrumental in realising the full potential of MTVNI’s content,” commented Grieder. “Based on a collaborative model with MTVNI’s international network of local channels, our third-party broadcast partnerships and the company’s multiple lines of business, Caroline will work towards enhancing our offerings globally.”

Beaton first joined MTVNI in 1996, leaving in 2000 to take up the position of director of international and new business at Carlton Television’s formats division, Action Time. In 2004, she founded the consultancy Road Trip Media.
