MTVN Latin America Picks Up New Programming

LAS VEGAS, February 1: MTV Networks Latin America has
acquired a stable of new programs from distributors including BBC, CCI, NBC
Universal, Target Entertainment, IMG Media-owned Tiger Aspect and TVN, among
others, which span a variety of genres.

From Target entertainment, MTV Latin America picked up the
Finnish reality series The Dudesons and
the adult animated comedy The Hell Show.

Over at Nickelodeon, Frankenstein’s Cat from CCI was added to the company’s slate, along with
the new telenovela format Karkú
from TVN in Chile. The network also announced new original
programming including Back at the Barnyard, Mighty B, Tak and the Power of
Juju, iCarly
and Ni hao, Kai-lan for Nick
Jr.

New acquisitions for VH1 Latin America includes the British
series The Secret Diary of a Call Girl
from Tiger Aspect, the BBC’s rock documentary The Seven Ages of Rock and America’s Most Smartest Model from Target Entertainment. The network has also
picked up two new films for its Movies That Rock block: The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Ray, both
from NBC Universal.

“We’re constantly looking for high quality, innovative shows
that appeal to the diverse audiences targeted by our brands," said Dean
Broadhurst, the senior director of programming for MTV and VH1 Latin America.
“These shows are perfectly suited to both MTV and VH1’s demographic and we are
certain that they will resonate and continue to differentiate us from the other
entertainment options in the region.”

Nickelodeon Latin America,” said Tatiana Rodríguez, the VP of programming and
creative strategy for Nickelodeon Latin America. “Nick pride’s itself in
providing its viewers with creative, innovative programming with strong
storylines and Frankenstein’s Cat as
well as our Karkú, Nick’s first
telenovela format from TVN is sure to deliver and captivate kids in the region
providing hours of entertainment.”
