MTV HD Service Launches on Sky

LONDON, December 16: MTV
Networks UK & Ireland has launched the high-definition channel MTVNHD on
the Sky+HD service.

The 24-hour
commercial-free English-language channel, broadcast out of Warsaw, Poland, will
reach Sky+ HD's some 500,000 subscribers.

"The launch of MTVNHD
in the U.K. and Ireland underlines our commitment to provide the audience with
high-quality programming," said David Lynn, the executive VP of MTV
Networks UK & Ireland. "From launch, MTVNHD will provide an unrivalled
destination where people can watch and listen to the greatest live music
performances for which we are famous."

More than 300 hours of
original programming has been commissioned over two years for MTVNHD, including
HD Extreme, Uncompressed and Chartblast. The channel also features acquired and MTVNI
library content, such as MTV Unplugged and VH1 Storytellers.
Plus, a Nickelodeon programming block, broadcasting on Saturday and Sunday
mornings, will air shows like SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar: The Legend of Aang, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Tak & the Power of Juju.
