LONDON: MTV has announced five new series commissions, including three brand-new additions to its U.K. and international schedules: Car Crash Couples, Judge Geordie and Hire Me (working title).

Dating format Car Crash Couples will be produced by 5Production for MTV International, the first commission for Channel 5’s in-house production arm from a Viacom network since the takeover. The 8×1-hour series will focus on the challenges four young couples face when taking the toughest road trip of their lives across Mexico.

Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison returns in the spin-off series Judge Geordie, which documents as she travels the country helping to solve Britain’s relationship nightmares. The 10×1-hour series will air across MTV’s network of international channels following the tenth season of Geordie Shore.

The new reality format Hire Me (working title) focuses on young job-seekers who are given an opportunity to try out their dream role. The 8×1-hour series is set for the U.K. this summer. It will be made by the brand-new factual-entertainment division of Remedy Productions.

Two series were recommissioned: Ex On the Beach and Geordie Shore.

“MTV’s entertainment schedule is on fire this summer,” commented Kerry Taylor, the senior VP and general manager for MTV UK.  “We’re really excited to be partnering with some of the U.K.’s best known production houses to bring our fans a stunning blend of brand new relatable commissions—Car Crash Couples, Hire Me and Judge Geordie—which are sure to resonate with our audiences and evolve into instant ratings winners and fuel the social media conversation. Our returning hit shows, Geordie Shore and Ex on the Beach have already established a loyal and passionate following and we’re confident that they will continue to gain momentum.”
