Moving Pictures Acquires Wake

 SANTA MONICA: Moving Pictures Film and Television has taken on the international rights to Wake, its first acquisitions since adding Gary Hirsch, formerly with First Look Studios and Sony Pictures, to its team.

Wake stars Bijou Phillips (Almost Famous, Bully, Hostel: Part II), Jane Seymour (Wedding Crashers) and Ian Somerhalder (Vampire Diaries). The film is about how white lies, self deceptions and lies of omission can have unpredictable results. The U.S. TV and home-entertainment rights to the film were previously acquired by E1 Entertainment, with a DVD release anticipated in second quarter of 2010.

Hirsch joined Moving Pictures as the senior acquisitions executive this Semptember.

"We expect to get a great deal of momentum during this exciting time."
