PARIS: Moonscoop has secured a number of agreements, spanning TV, home video and merchandising, for its 2D animated series Tara Duncan.

Universal Pictures France scooped up the home-video rights for the show. Moonscoop signed broadcast deals for the series with TVE in Spain, Disney Channel Germany, Nickelodeon in Italy, Portugal’s Dreamia, RTBF in Belgium, NRK in Norway, MBC in the Middle East, Canal +/ZigZap Poland and Chello Central Europe.

A range of merchandising deals have also been signed. Maroquinerie Luc d’Arvillers are on board for fashion and back-to-school bags, Papeteries Sill is production stationery, while ATM is working on headware and fashion accessories. Further consumer products plans include bedlinen and hometextile (CTI), charms (Alcara), apparel (TV Mania) and character costume for retail events (Evasion Communication).

Lionel Marty, the president of worldwide sales at Moonscoop, said: “This first season of Tara Duncan is really hitting the mark with broadcasters worldwide, and with a home-entertainment deal signed in France with Universal Pictures, and licensees already on board, we have a strong foundation in place to push the series into new TV markets and licensing categories this year.”
