MGM HD Expands Reach

LOS ANGELES, September 25:
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) Studios has signed a carriage agreement for MGM HD
with Bright House Networks, which reaches some 2.4 million customers.

Bright House Networks has
launched MGM HD to its subscribers in Tampa Bay, Orlando, Indianapolis,
Bakersfield, Birmingham and Detroit, among others. The 24/7 HD network not only
broadcasts a range of classic MGM theatrical titles, but it also features a
selection of original programming and new content for viewers. Among its
high-definition offerings are Usual Suspects, Leaving Las Vegas, Hotel Rwanda and RoboCop.

“MGM HD’s awareness is
growing at a rapid rate and we are delighted to be partnering with Bright House
Networks on this agreement,” said Douglas A. Lee, the executive VP of worldwide
digital media at MGM. “With the demand for quality high definition
entertainment at an all time high, we are in a great position as a major supplier
of award-winning films and we look forward to providing Bright House customers
with an engaging theatrical experience through our HD channel.”
