MGM Gears Up for Central European Channel Rollout

MUNICH, October 4: MGM Networks is teaming with chellomedia
to launch MGM Channel Central Europe at the end of this month, reaching more
than 1.5 million subscribers.

The 50/50 joint venture begins its rollout October 26,
reaching more than 1.5 million cable and satellite subscribers across Hungary,
the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania.

Heading up the venture as general manager is Klaus Michler,
who will be based in MGM Networks’ regional headquarters in Munich and will
report to the joint venture’s board of directors. He joins MGM from the ad
agency Arbo Media in Munich, where he served as COO. Prior to working at Arbo
Media, Michler headed up marketing and research at Eurosport in Germany.

MGM also announced today that Sisco Schultis will serve as
the joint venture’s finance director, joining the new channel from NBC
Universal Global Networks in Munich. In addition, Thorsten Schweer will serve
as the channel’s manager of programming and on-air, joining from Premiere in
Munich.

MGM and Liberty Global’s chellomedia announced at MIPTV
plans for a 50/50 partnership to launch and operate the channel in Central
Europe, extending their already successful MGM Channel partnership in Latin
America.
