Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) has promoted Deblina Chakrabarty, Guro Viddal and Shaila Chopra to VPs of international television distribution for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Chakrabarty and Viddal are veterans of MGM’s sales team, having both joined the company in 2012. They are based in London and report to Alex Peschak, senior VP of international television distribution for EMEA.

Chakrabarty oversees distribution of all TV media in Africa, Belgium, Greece, Ireland, Middle East, Portugal and Spain, and was responsible for output deals with OSN in the Middle East and NOS in Portugal. Viddal will continue to oversee distribution of all television media in Italy, Central and Eastern Europe, and Turkey, and was responsible for securing output agreements with Sky Italia in Italy and Showmax in Poland.

Chopra joined MGM in 2015 after previous roles at Pokémon, WME and Pixar. Chopra is based in Los Angeles and will continue to report to Paul Bischoff, executive VP of international television distribution, focusing on the sales strategy for the team and supporting all phases of deal negotiation.

Bischoff said: “Deblina and Guro have both been integral to the success and growth of our business in EMEA. They have done an incredible job in their respective markets and closed a vast number of deals for the company over the last six years. I am excited to see them continue at MGM in more senior level roles as we focus on expanding our business further in the coming years.”

Added Bischoff: “Shaila has made substantial contributions to our approach and execution of distribution agreements. The breadth of her experience and skills has proven invaluable to the team.”
