Merchandise Planned for New Family Guy Spin-Off

CENTURY CITY: Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising has signed up its first licensing partners for the upcoming Family Guy spin-off, The Cleveland Show, and is seeking more partnerships in a range of categories.

Changes and Briefly Stated, which both license Family Guy, will carry the same product lines for The Cleveland Show. Changes will introduce a line of T-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets and more, while Briefly Stated will debut loungewear, underwear and sleepwear. Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising is looking to expand the line with partners for toys, games, puzzles, trading cards, electronics, publishing and more.

The Cleveland Show follows Cleveland Brown (voiced by Mike Henry), the soft-spoken neighbor of the Griffins in Family Guy. The series will watch as he ventures back to Virginia to marry his high-school sweetheart, Donna (voiced by Sanaa Lathan).

"It takes vision and commitment to sign a license before a property’s made its debut," said Elie Dekel, the executive VP of Fox Licensing & Merchandising. "But that just speaks to the strengths of both Changes and Briefly Stated. It also reinforces the creative power of Seth MacFarlane, his proven success, ability to garner a loyal audience, and the strength of his characters."
