Mark Burnett Targets U.S. Hispanic Market

LOS ANGELES, August 9:
Mark Burnett is teaming with Grammy Award-winning music producer Emilio Estefan
to develop and produce multiplatform content for the U.S. Hispanic market,
kicking off with a “Latin-inspired” workout video.

This new venture, entitled
Estefan/Burnett Entertainment, will develop content for the Internet, wireless
mobile companies and linear broadcast. "Over the past few years, I've
watched the major networks barely scratch the surface with programming for the
crossover Hispanic community even though it is by far the fastest growing
sector of America's population," said Burnett. "By working alongside
the brilliant Emilio Estefan, we hope to bridge this gap and produce
multi-media programming and cultivate new talent that embrace and appeal to
this vital community. Emilio is one of the most respected and successful
producers in the world and I'm honored to do business with him."

The first project is a
partnership with Zumba Fitness, which has sold over 2 million “Latin-inspired”
workout DVDs. Estefan and Burnett will produce a new branding campaign, product
line and national tour in 2007 featuring Zumba Fitness that will feature
original music composed and developed by Estefan. "Identifying
opportunities to fuse commerce and entertainment has always been a staple of my
career," Burnett said. "When Emilio and I first discussed Zumba
Fitness, I immediately recognized it as a product with incredible potential for
explosion in both the fitness and entertainment genres. And now with Emilio
producing original music for the products, off the bat we will elevate Zumba
Fitness to a legitimate powerhouse in the global entertainment community."
