Mark Burnett Producing Original Series for VH1 Classic

NEW YORK: VH1 Classic and Mark Burnett Productions have teamed up for a new weekly hour-long docu-series, Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy Camp, which watches as 15 musicians from a variety of backgrounds get transformed into rock stars.

Production is set to begin in February on the four one-hour episodes, premiering in July. The show will follow the "campers" over the course of four weeks as they form bands, rehearse, get schooled by rock and roll legends and, in the finale, perform in front of a live audience in an iconic rock venue. "Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy Camp has allowed musicians around the world to make their dreams a reality," said Mark Burnett. "We are delighted to produce a series about this real-life process and work with the great team at VH1 Classic."

"We are very excited to team up with Mark Burnett Productions to bring our viewers an inside look at all of the excitement and intensity of Rock ‘N’ Roll Fantasy Camp," added Lee Rolontz, the executive VP of original music production and development at VH1 and VH1 Classic. "Where else can you experience music fans living their dreams on stage next to legendary classic music artists?"

VH1 Classic is showcasing an expanded lineup of all-new original series, along with the return of the hit That Metal Show. The new slate of programming begins on January 22 with The Music Video Exposed and continues with Behind the Music Remastered, featuring updated versions of some of the series most memorable episodes, beginning on February 6 at 10 p.m. This is followed by the premiere of the fourth season of That Metal Show at 11 p.m.
