M6 Acquires French Web Publisher

PARIS, April 30: In its bid to strengthen its online presence, French broadcaster M6 has acquired 100 percent of Cyréalis, which operates a range of websites in the country, including the tech magazine and download destination Clubic.com and the gaming information site Jeuxvideo.fr.

M6 says the acquisition of Cyréalis, which also operates Neteco.com, providing e-business information, and the price-comparison service Achetezfacile.com, among others, vaults it into the top 15 most-visited websites in France with a cumulative monthly audience of 8.9 million unique visitors. The broadcaster says the Cyréalis know-how will enable it to develop further websites based on its channels and content, and strengthen its portfolio of thematic online destinations. Further, M6 Publicite will add the Cyréalissites to the range of platforms it currently offers advertisers. Financials were not disclosed.

Cyréalis’ founders, Jerry Nieuviarts and Nicolas Rosset-Lanchet, will join M6 Web’s executive committee. Cyréalis’s office in Lyon will remain in operation.
