Lucha Libre Wrestling to Air in India

MUMBAI: Through a partnership between Lucha Libre USA and Reliance Broadcast Network, season one of Masked Warriors will air in India on the English-language entertainment channel BIG CBS Prime and the regional entertainment channel BIG Magic.

BIG Magic, which launched in April, targets the areas Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. Lucha Libre USA: Masked Warriors is a free-style wrestling show that includes a roster of well-known Mexican and U.S. wrestlers, such as Lizmark Jr., Super Nova, Marco Corleone, Shane Helms and Tinieblas Jr.

“Sports programs are known to draw huge audiences in India,” Reliance Broadcast Network said in a statement. “A deep audience insight mapping indicated an excellent opportunity to bring to India the Masked Warriors, showcasing the new and iconic warriors of Lucha Libre. We are confident that this offering will resonate well with our audiences across both channels, and are extremely pleased with the partnership.”
