LIVINGtv Bags BBC Dramas

LONDON, September 12: LIVINGtv has picked up two dramas from
BBC Worldwide for its 2006-07 season, Hotel Babylon and Cutting It, marking a new direction for the British cable and satellite channel,
which has become known for its slate of American dramas, such as Grey’s
Anatomy
, Boston Legal and the recently acquired Justice.

“LIVINGtv’s 2007 strategy includes targeting quality British
drama series that viewers know and love,” said Claudia Rosencrantz, the
director of programs at the channel. “And, both of these fantastic series
inject a breath of fresh air into the British drama market and will now
compliment a schedule which is already packed with quality.”

Hotel Babylon, aired
on BBC One earlier this year, was the spin-off TV show from Imogen
Edward-Jones’s book of the same title. Produced by Carnival Films and starring
Max Beesley and Tamzin Outhwaite, it exposes the ins and outs of an exclusive
London hotel. Season one goes to air on LIVINGtv in 2007.

Cutting It, starring
Amanda Holden and Sarah Parish, was a hit series for the BBC, about rivalry
amongst hairdressers, old flames and family. The first season launches next
month.
