LOS ANGELES: Lifetime has secured the new unscripted series America’s Supernanny, a U.S. version of the hit global format.

Lifetime ordered eight one-hour episodes of the series, to be produced by Shed Media US. Supernanny has already been formatted in Belgium, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, Romania, Singapore, Spain and Sweden.

The network launched an open casting call for the country’s best nanny and star of the series. The nanny will visit homes throughout the U.S., advising parents on raising their children and helping to solve family issues.

“The importance of family and childcare is key to women and we are constantly looking to provide programming that involves what’s important to them,” said Nancy Dubuc, the president and general manager of Lifetime Networks. “This program will do just that and showcase America’s Supernanny’s approach and experience to not only entertain parents and their children, but also help them work through any problems they might have.”

“Shed Media US is thrilled to work with Lifetime on re-launching our successful brand with a fresh, new, American nanny,” added Nick Emmerson, the president of Shed Media US.
