Lifetime Orders Half-Hour Sitcom

LOS ANGELES, June 11:
Lifetime Television has expanded its original programming slate with a
13-episode order for the half-hour sitcom Rita Rocks from Media Rights Capital (MRC).

Slated for a fall
premiere, the series stars Nicole Sullivan (The King of Queens), Richard Ruccolo (Joey) and Tisha Campbell-Martin (My Wife and Kids).
It focuses on a married working mother who, unsatisfied with her life, decides
to form a garage band. It will air as part of a one-hour block with Reba.

"For our first
original prime time comedy series in a decade, we've assembled a fantastic
team, in front of and behind the camera,” said Susanne Daniels, the president
of entertainment at Lifetime Networks. “The gifted and simply hilarious Nicole
Sullivan leads a phenomenal cast, produced by our wonderful partners at Media
Rights Capital."

Rita Rocks has found the perfect home at Lifetime,"
added Keith Samples, the president of MRC Television. "We could not be
happier with being in business with Lifetime. It's a terrific place, with
terrific people and we look forward to doing lots of good work together."
