LOS ANGELES: Power Rangers Samurai will premiere in the U.S. on Nickelodeon on February 7 at 8 p.m. before settling into its regular Sunday noon slot.

Nickelodeon has lined up a range of multiplatform extensions for the debut episode. The premiere will simulcast on Nick Mobile. Following the first airing, a dedicated show category will be available through Nickelodeon’s VOD partners. Moreover, Nick.com will feature a new Power Rangers Samurai-themed game of the week beginning February 3. The site will also include a dedicated show page featuring videos, photo galleries, a quiz, message boards, character bios and more.

The new half-hour series—the 19th season of the hit franchise—is a production of Saban Brands and Power Rangers Productions. In addition to its Sunday noon airing on Nick, the series will broadcast Fridays from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Nicktoons.

"We are very excited to introduce this fun and iconic property, which has spanned over two decades, to a whole new generation of kids," said Pete Danielsen, executive VP of programming at Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group. "This new season of Power Ranger Samurai will feature all new heroes, villains and special effects while keeping the core messages of friendship, teamwork and empowerment that the series has always exhibited."

Elie Dekel, president of Saban Brands, added, "We are so excited to ring in a new era of Power Rangers, the world’s most successful kids action series. And Nickelodeon is the perfect place to introduce these iconic heroes to a whole new generation of fans."
