LAPTV Takes Two Echo Bridge Shows

NEEDHAM/LOS ANGELES: Echo Bridge Entertainment has secured a deal for LAPTV to air the teen series Degrassi: The Next Generation and crime drama Cold Squad in Spanish-speaking Latin America.

LAPTV picked up the exclusive pay-TV rights for all eight seasons of Degrassi: The Next Generation. The teen series has been aired in more than 70 countries around the world and season nine will be available to broadcasters later this year. LAPTV is also launching all seven seasons of Cold Squad. The show centers on a homicide detective and her team of police specialists at the Vancouver Police Department as they investigate new leads in unsolved cases.

“These two series have performed extremely well, and we are excited to offer an all-new season of Degrassi: The Next Generation at NATPE this year,” commented Emilia Nuccio, the VP of international sales for Latin America at Echo Bridge Entertainment. “In these challenging economic times, high-quality programming at great value is in demand, and Echo Bridge is thrilled to be in a position to help broadcasters meet those demands with premium content from our extensive and diverse catalogue.”

"We are very pleased to acquire both series and present them to our Latin American audience," commented Richard Rohrbach, the VP of programming and creative services at LAPTV. "High-quality programming is our main commitment with our clients and Degrassi: The Next Generation and Cold Squad are the type of series that increase value for our viewers."
