PARIS: Lagardère has appointed Denis Olivennes as the chairman and CEO of its media unit, Lagardère Active, which recorded net sales for its third quarter of 267 million euros, up 3.9 percent on a like-for-like basis.

Olivennes steps into the role following the departure of Didier Quillot. As the new chairman and CEO of Lagardère Active, Olivennes will become a member of the Lagardère Media Committee of Lagardère SCA.

The boost in net sales at the media unit were led by a solid performance this summer in advertising and ground made up in TV production deliveries. When excluding the International Magazine Publishing (PMI) not sold off, net sales rose by 3.1 percent on a life-for-like basis and by 2.5 percent on a reported basis.
