KidsCo Secures Further Carriage

LONDON: KidsCo continues its global expansion by adding Angola, Belgium, Mongolia, Mozambique and Slovenia to its existing carriage roster.

African pay-TV operator MultiChoice will be making KidsCo available in Mozambique and Angola in Portuguese while also offering the channel across some English-speaking regions. VOO will be broadcasting KidsCo in Belgium. SiOL TV is to offer KidsCo to viewers in Slovenia, while Mongolia will receive the channel via DDish TV.

The channel—jointly owned by NBC Universal, Cookie Jar Group and Corus Entertainment—recently signed a deal with German cable TV operator Kabel BW. The new agreements bring KidsCo to more than 500,000 more homes. KidsCo programming includes shows such as The Wiggles, Paddington, Corduroy and Heathcliff, as well as original content such as Jass Time!, with three programming zones: preschool, kids 6 to 10 and family.

KidsCo’s managing director, Paul Robinson, commented: “KidsCo is committed to delivering a children’s channel that is fun and has learning for kids around the world. We are only two years old, but our rate of expansion is testimony to the importance that broadcasters place on providing quality entertainment for families as well as the versatility of KidsCo, which is broadcast in multiple languages tailored to each region. We look forward to welcoming the kids in Angola, Belgium, Mongolia, Mozambique and Slovenia to the international KidsCo family.”
