KBS, Time Warner Cable Ink Carriage Deal

SEOUL, November 28: KBS
World, the international television channel operated by Korean pubcaster KBS,
will be available in Southern California on Time Warner Cable, boosting the
network’s U.S. subscriber base to 20 million.

Beginning December 1, KBS
World will be available for all Time Warner subscribers in Southern California
as a basic channel, reaching 2 million new viewers in 216 cities across the
region, including Los Angeles County, Orange County and Riverside County.

KBS World is already
distributed in the U.S. by DISH Network. Worldwide, the channel is available to
34 million subscribers in 50 countries around the world.

The 24-hour Korean channel
features programming for family audiences and fans of Korean pop culture. It
carries dramas, entertainment, documentaries, news and kids’ programming. The
channel’s broadcasts include 15 hours of English subtitled programming.
