John Ford Returns to Discovery Communications

SILVER SPRING, September 5: John Ford, most recently the
executive VP of programming at the National Geographic Channel, has rejoined
Discovery Communications as the president and general manager of Military
Channel and Discovery Times Channel.

In his new position, Ford will be responsible for the
creative and business strategies for both channels, including programming,
operations and new media content.

Since 2003, Ford has been the executive VP of programming at
National Geographic Channel. During his previous 13-year tenure at Discovery,
Ford served as the president of Discovery Health Channel and
discoveryhealth.com, as well as overseeing the successful launch of basic
cable’s first 24-hour HD channel, HD Theater, and served as the senior VP and
GM of TLC, where he began as the head of programming in 1991.

"This is a real homecoming for me," said Ford.
"I am extraordinarily impressed with the new management at Discovery
Communications, and cannot wait to work with David Zaslav, Bruce Campbell and
this team of industry leaders. Military Channel and Discovery Times are great
brands with so much promise and potential. I am excited to build upon their
growing audience share, and take the brands to the next level of growth and
success."

Following the success of Discovery’s recent launches of four
HD simulcasts in the U.S. market, Clint Stinchcomb will continue to oversee the
company's high-definition strategy, the ongoing management of HD Theater as
well as Turbo Media, a new multiplatform and multimedia initiative focused on
all things motorized.

Both Ford and Stinchcomb will report to Bruce Campbell, the
company’s president of digital media, emerging networks and business
development.
