LONDON: Jo Ball, the current commissioning editor for features and formats at BBC One and Two, is returning to Ricochet in the role of managing director.

Ball previously worked at Ricochet, first as executive producer and later as creative director. She worked on shows such as Born to Be Different, Colin and Justin’s How Not to Decorate and It’s Me or the Dog. In her current role at BBC One and Two, Ball is responsible for shows like DIY SOS, Countryfile, Antiques Roadshow and Nigel Slater’s Simple Suppers. She also previously held the commissioning editor post at Channel 4, working on Embarrassing Bodies, The F Word and Gok’s Fashion Fix, among others.

Of her return to Ricochet, Ball commented: "I’ve loved working for the BBC, my job has been incredibly diverse and interesting and the people I’ve worked with creative, intelligent and inspiring but the opportunity to run a company like Ricochet doesn’t come along very often and I just couldn’t turn it down. I’m excited and looking forward to getting stuck in to both development and production."

In her new role, Ball will report to Nick Powell, the CEO of Ricochet. Powell said: "I am of course delighted that Jo Ball is returning to Ricochet in the new role of managing director. Jo has an excellent track record as both a program maker and a commissioning editor. I very much look forward to her driving the company forward creatively and building on Ricochet’s reputation for entertaining and intelligent programs."
