TEL AVIV: Armoza Formats and the international Contech 2010 exhibition have teamed up for Formagination 2010, a TV format contest that will be held as part of the Contech 2010 Technology and New Media Conference.

The contest is open to broadcasters, producers and creators that have an idea for a new TV format. This year’s competition highlights cross-platform content. The contest is held in collaboration with France’s TF1, the Netherland’s Ned3 and Italy’s Mediaset Group.

The pitching event will take place on November 9. The formats will be disclosed to a jury panel of media industry executive and representatives of broadcasting entities from a range of companies. The winning format will be awarded international distribution service by Armoza Formats, as well as a potential agreement with participating broadcasters that earmarked $50,000 for format development and production.

Avi Armoza, the CEO of Armoza Formats, said, "We are excited to have prime broadcasters as our partners in the contest. This is further evidence of the central role Israel plays in the international format industry. The global TV industry is undergoing a fascinating transformation which gives creators and technological developers an opportunity to collaborate on the next generation of TV content."

Moshe Lilos, the CEO of Kenes Exhibitions and the organizer of Contech 2010 conference, said, "The format contest weaves naturally into Contech and constitutes a meeting point for content and technology. The elimination of geographical boundaries for content allows Israeli players to contend in an international field in producing prime programs for leading networks all over the world. Contech 2010 will provide them with a springboard to get there."
