Jim Henson Ramps Up Sales Efforts for Sid the Science Kid

LOS ANGELES, July 25: The
Jim Henson Company has appointed Sam Ewing to handle the international sales of
its latest preschool property, Sid the Science Kid.

Ewing, a veteran of the
children’s business, will be responsible for oversight of the international
sales efforts for the 3-D animated series, which will debut in the U.S. on PBS
KIDS on September 1. Most recently, Ewing launched the Cartoon Consultants
Group, and held previous roles such as the senior VP of worldwide distribution
and VP of development for Cookie Jar Entertainment and VP of international
co-productions and acquisitions at Saban International, as well as stints at
Hanna-Barbera Productions and NBC Entertainment, among others.
