LOS ANGELES: The Jim Henson Company has aligned with Sprout and Sixteen South to co-produce the 26×30-minute preschool series Pajanimals, which will air exclusively in the U.S. on Sprout.

The show features four musical puppets, which were designed and built by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. The series follows the characters’ imaginary journeys, which will model the skills preschoolers need to move through their days and nights. Production gets under way immediately in Northern Ireland, with funding assistance from Nothern Ireland Screen. The Jim Henson Company’s CEO, Lisa Henson, and executive VP of children’s entertainment, Halle Stanford, will serve as executive producers for the series, along with Alex Rockwell.

The Jim Henson Company is handling all ancillary use of the property, including licensing, video and merchandising.
