Jetix Europe Picks up Second Season of Galactik Football

AMSTERDAM/LONDON, June 20:
Jetix Europe has acquired a second season of 26 half-hour episodes of the 2-D
and 3-D CGI-animated series Galactik Football from the French animation studio Alphanim.

The second season will
premiere on Jetix Europe channels in the summer of 2008. With the recent
acquisition, Jetix Europe now has a total of 52 half-hour episodes of Galactik
Football.
Since its launch across
Europe in 2006, the series has consistently entered the top 10 programs on
Jetix channels.

Jetix Europe holds all
pay-TV rights for Europe and the Middle East. JCP (Jetix Consumer Products
International) manages the licensing rights to the series for Europe. JCP also
manages the home video rights to the series in Europe, excluding France. JCP
will exploit all product categories to leverage the enthusiasm and interest
generated by the UEFA Euro 2008 event and football in general.

Targeted at kids aged
8-12, the series features a mix of 2-D-animated storytelling with 3D-CGI
football action. The series, produced in Paris by Alphanim’s in-house team,
depicts the adventures of the Snow Kids, a football team from the planet
Akillian. In the second series, the Snow Kids are back on Space Stadium Genesis
to defend their Galactik Cup crown.

Marc Buhaj, the senior VP
of programming at Jetix Europe, commented: “Galactik Football is a key series for our Jetix channels across
Europe. We are looking forward to unveiling the second series as it takes our viewers
on further adventures full of suspense and excitement. It will also tie in
perfectly with the UEFA Euro 2008, extending the magic of football even further
for the Jetix audiences.”
