JCC’s Bouneb Set for MIPJUNIOR Keynote

PARIS: The closing keynote at MIPJUNIOR on October 4 will be delivered by Mahmoud Bouneb, the executive general manager of Al Jazeera Children’s Channel (JCC).

Bouneb caps off the schedule at the 17th edition of MIPJUNIOR (formerly MIPCOM Junior) from October 3 to 4 at the Intercontinental Carlton Hotel the weekend before MIPCOM. He will discuss the rollouts of JCC and its sister preschool service Baraem, which are key producers of original content as well as significant buyers on the international market. Bouneb will talk about the new opportunities opening up with JCC and Baraem and he will explore how executives in the kids’ entertainment community must be more aware of their responsibilities in terms of education and social issues.

“MIPJUNIOR is a good and relevant platform for us to share our experience with global industry players and I am honored to present the MIPJUNIOR keynote speech," Bouneb said. "Both JCC and Baraem have made a tremendous difference to the Arab TV industry for children, and I am pleased to exchange some of the valuable lessons we have learned with such a prestigious audience."

Bouneb is a former advisor to the chairman of the board of Al Jazeera and the president of Qatar Radio and TV Corporation. In 2003, he was appointed to lead the launch and rollout of JCC, which went on the air in 2005.
