Jaman.com Inks Distribution Deal for Indie Film Collection

SAN JOSE, March 1: In a
multiyear distribution deal, over 150 independent films from the Cinequest Film
Institute will be made available on the content platform Jaman.com, including
the Emmy Award-winning Amargosa, the
multiple award-winning Awful Normal,
and the political satire Terrorists.

Available on Jaman for $1.99 to
rent and $4.99 to purchase, the films will be selected from the history of
Cinequest Film Festivals, the Cinequest Distribution Label and the Cinequest
Online collections.

In addition, Jaman has also
agreed to sponsor the Cinequest Film Festival this year, which started on
February 28 and will run through March 11. Gaurav Dhillon, the founder and CEO
of Jaman, will offer the keynote presentation at this year’s Cinequest Film
Festival on the topic of emerging models of distribution and their impact on
the film industry.

"Every year, thousands of
excellent films are introduced at the world's top film festivals, but less than
one percent ever finds an audience beyond those festivals," said Dhillon.
"We are building a unique online community that allows film fans from
around the world to discover, enjoy and share great independent cinema. For
festival-goers everywhere, there is no better way to support independent
filmmakers than to watch and enjoy these films year-round."

Jaman currently offers over
1,000 films for viewing via Jaman's player directly from their Mac or PC. Jaman
incorporates community features including in-movie conversations, reviews,
groups and "friending" providing a way for thousands of moviegoers to
socialize on Jaman.
