ITV1 Orders Second Season of Beat the Star

MUNICH, October 14: Beat the Star, the British version of SevenOne International’s hit
format Beat Your Host!, will have
another ten episodes aired in prime time on ITV1.

As in the first season, each episode will feature
contestants challenging different celebrities for a potential prize of £50,000.
The hour-long program, produced by Diverse/Gallowgate, is hosted by Vernon Kay.

Jens Richter, the managing director of SevenOne
International, commented: "We're delighted that we’ll be continuing our
successful collaboration with ITV1 and Diverse next year. Beat the Star is an innovative concept that has been earning
excellent ratings across international boundaries. I’m sure the second season
in the U.K. will again attract large audiences."

SevenOne International has sold Beat your Host! in 13 countries so far, including China, the
Netherlands and Denmark. The original Schlag den Raab
established itself as the most successful launch of a show on German TV in more
than four years, earning average ratings of 25.8 percent for ProSieben.
