LONDON: ITV Studios Global Entertainment has appointed Augustus Dulgaro to the newly created position of senior VP for the Asia Pacific.

Dulgaro has been ITV’s senior VP of sales for Australia, New Zealand and Japan since joining the company in 2006 and has doubled annual revenues in his territories. In his new role, Dulgaro will take on an expanded remit to include the full Asia region and will report to Maria Kyriacou, the managing director of ITV Studios Global Entertainment. James Ross, who has served as regional director for Asia, will be leaving the company after a five-year stint that saw the launch of the ITV Granada channel in the region and the partnership with activeTV to set up ITV Studios Asia. "With all that now complete, it’s the right time to move on to some great new opportunities," Ross tells World Screen Newsflash, "and I’m happy to pass the ITV Asia operations to of one of our most senior and experienced sales guys, my friend and colleague Augustus Dulgaro, who is based in Sydney."

Kyriacou said of Dulgaro’s new appointment: “Asia Pacific is extremely important to our business and as we looked at how we prepare ITV Studios Global Entertainment for growth it became very clear that we require a consistent strategic management of our portfolio and exploitation of our intellectual property across the region. Since his arrival in 2006, Augustus has doubled sales revenue in his region this, coupled with his ability to secure partner support, perfectly places him and his talented team to lead our next stage of growth in this crucial region.”

Dulgaro commented: “Thanks to the support of our partners, ITV Studios Global Entertainment already has a strong presence in Australia, New Zealand and across Asia. In my new role I’m looking forward to working with our current and future partners throughout the region, to enhance ITV’s profile and build revenue streams across all brands and platforms.”
