ION Bolsters Movie Slate

WEST PALM BEACH: ION Television has picked up the broadcast premiere rights to March of the Penguins from Warner Bros. Domestic Television as well as The Return, Breach and Miami Vice from NBC Universal Domestic Distribution.

“As part of ION Television’s effort to build its prime-time lineup, we also want to regularly offer our viewers top quality movies,” said Leslie Chesloff, the executive VP of programming for ION Media Networks. “We’re thrilled to be able to offer our viewers the opportunity to watch this diverse line-up of films, particularly March of the Penguins—which will be a nice holiday treat.”

The films are slated to begin premiering on ION later this month, kicking off with The Return, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, on October 31, followed by Breach (Chris Cooper, Laura Linney and Ryan Phillippe) on November 1 and Miami Vice (Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx) on November 8. March of the Penguins debuts on ION Television on December 12.
