Image Takes on Titles from Hong Kong’s Pang Brothers

CHATSWORTH, June 16: Image Entertainment has taken on the
exclusive North American home video and digital distribution rights to three films
by Hong Kong-based filmmakers Danny and Oxide Pang.

The deal was concluded by the company’s European subsidiary,
Image Entertainment (UK), headed by Wendy Rutland. It covers the horror films Re-Cycle and Forest of Death and the psychological thriller Diary.

“These features are among the finest films in their
category,” said Barry Gordon, the senior VP of worldwide programming of Image Entertainment.
"In conjunction with Image's North America-based efforts, our U.K. staff
will continue to aggressively pursue the best films available to independent
suppliers like ourselves. We're committed to a film acquisition initiative and
expect nothing less than success."

This acquisition further strengthens Image’s position in the
Asian film category, following the deal inked in November with Celestial
Pictures to distribute 30 titles from the Shaw Brothers library.
