IBC, Hopscotch to Distribute Cult-Classic Doc In Australia

HOLLYWOOD, January 8: International Broadcast Communications
and Hopscotch Entertainment have signed an eight-year deal to distribute Midnight
Movies,
an 80-minute documentary on cult
films, throughout Australia.

The exclusive agreement was initiated by IBC’s London
representative, Alessio diCapua and gives the Australian independent
distributor Hopscotch the rights to represent and distribute Midnight Movies for all television (free, pay, VOD, PPV) and DVD.

“Hopscotch Entertainment’s eight-year commitment to
represent Midnight Movies is a testament
to the quality and timelessness of this critically-acclaimed documentary,” said
Jon Helmrich, the founder and president of IBC. “Midnight Movies exudes a strong sense of nostalgia for which
audiences around the world clamor. We look forward to its Australian
success.”

Midnight Movies is
one of several programs IBC will showcase at NATPE. It is produced and directed
by Stuart Samuels and focuses on films that continue to draw fans to the
cinemas for midnight screenings, some 20 to 30 years after their original
release.

IBC has previously licensed the documentary in the U.K.,
Israel, Brazil, Spain and New Zealand.
