Humf Gets Nick Jr. Launch

LONDON: Humf, a new animated series co-produced by Rubber Duck Entertainment and King Rollo Films, will make its debut this March on Nick Jr. in the U.K.

Narrated by actress Caroline Quentin, the series feature an eponymous protagonist who is both curious and indefatigable. The purple "furry thing" presents the world from the perspective of a 3-year-old. Humf premieres exclusively on Nick Jr. on Monday, March 2, and will air daily at 6 p.m.

"Children’s animation is an increasingly challenging environment to work in," said King Rollo Films’ managing director, Leo Nielsen. "The one necessary aspect that has never changed—the absolutely crucial starting point to any project—has been the need for strong stories. Right from concept stage Humf looked like something special. The stories are beautifully crafted with an emotional content that I think is very unusual and sets the series apart from other series around at the moment."

"We have always felt that for Nick Jr. it’s crucial to keep looking for and investing in the best U.K. content to entertain and engage preschool children," added Debbie MacDonald, the VP programming director at Nickelodeon U.K. "Humf instantly appealed to us as an adorable and playful series that reflects the lives of toddlers as they explore the world around them. We hope that young children will love little cuddly purple Humf as much as we do!"
