Horrid Henry 3D Movie in the Works

LONDON: Vertigo Films and Novel Entertainment have begun principal photography on the all-new 3D live-action movie based on the property Horrid Henry.

Horrid Henry: The Movie is set for release in summer 2011, with shooting to take place in London for seven weeks. The cast includes Anjelica Huston, as Henry’s terrifying teacher; Rebecca Front, as Henry’s headmistress; Richard E Grant, as the rival headmaster; and Parminder Nagra, as Miss Lovely. Theo Stevenson stars as Horrid Henry.

Co-funded with UKFC, Prescience and Aegis Film Fund, Horrid Henry: The Movie will be distributed by Vertigo Films in the U.K. International sales are being handled by Protagonist Pictures, which is launching the film at AFM.

Producer Rupert Preston commented: “We are delighted to be bringing the magic of Horrid Henry onto the big 3D screen. We have a great adult cast, brilliant kids and a hugely professional team. It’s going to be fun!”

Horrid Henry is a classic character, much loved by its young audience, and we are pleased to be part of bringing him to the big screen in an exciting way.”
