Heroes Tops List of Illegally Downloaded Shows

LOS ANGELES: NBC’s Heroes was the most illegally downloaded show of 2009, according to the blog TorrentFreak, which reports on Internet file-sharing. 

The most-pirated episode of Heroes was downloaded approximately 6.6 million times, which is half a million more than the show’s average TV audience. Lost was the second most pirated (6.3 million), followed by Prison Break (3.45 million), Dexter (2.8 million) and House (2.6 million).

24 was also on the list, with 2.4 million, as was Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, with nearly 2 million downloads. Female-skewing shows Desperate Housewives (2.2 million) and Grey’s Anatomy (1.7 million) also made the top ten. True Blood (1.6 million) joins Dexter as the only shows in the top ten to come from premium cable.
