Hallmark Channels Score Carriage Renewal

STUDIO CITY: Crown Media Holdings, which owns and operates Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel, has sealed a multi-year renewal agreement with the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) that keeps the networks available to the 1,000 member companies.

Among the members of the NCTC are Charter Communications, Cox Communications and Cablevision Systems Corporation. The Hallmark channels are still off AT&T U-Verse systems, which dropped the offerings in September in a carriage dispute.

“We are delighted to announce the renewal of this affiliation agreement with the NCTC whose member companies are outstanding partners,” said Bill Abbott, the president and CEO of Crown Media Holdings. “This new agreement reflects NCTC’s and Hallmark Channels’ emphasis on quality and service to our respective subscribers and viewers.”

“NCTC is pleased to offer our members and their subscribers this agreement that provides for continued carriage of Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel,” added Frank Hughes, the senior VP of programming at NCTC.
