GSN Unveils New Programming Initiatives

PASADENA, July 12: GSN is set to air a local version of the
Dutch format That’s the Question and is
planning a slate of behind the scenes specials about the world of game shows.

GSN is working with Scott Sternberg Productions on its
version of the Intellygents quiz show format That’s the Question. The 20-episode show combines word un-scrambling
skills with a test of world history and pop culture trivia knowledge. The U.S.
version of the series is being shot this week on the original set in Amsterdam.
“The game combines three great game show concepts, trivia, scrambled words and
puzzles, making for an entertaining half-hour that will complement our schedule
perfectly,” said Rich Cronin, the president and CEO of GSN.

The cable network has also unveiled a series of
behind-the-scenes specials that will launch this fall looking at game shows.
The specials will be produced by Asylum Entertainment. Among the topics to be
covered are game show legend Chuck Barris and the success of the classic series
Match Game. "The overwhelming success
of Big Bucks: The Press Your Luck Scandal told us viewers love to learn about the inside workings of the game
show world," said Cronin. "There is a wealth of material within the
game show community and we'd like to offer more of the same, top-quality behind-the-scenes
fare."

At the Television Critics Association in Pasadena yesterday,
GSN also announced that Base Camp Films will produce its coverage of the
first-ever Worldwide Web Games Championship. The hour-long special is slated to
air on GSN in December.
