GSN Partners with American Media for Starface Tabloid Series

SANTA MONICA, August 3:
GSN and American Media (AMI) have forged a multiplatform brand integration deal
involving Starface, the net’s
tabloid game series hosted by Danny Bonaduce, and The National Enquirer.

The joint branding
arrangement will result in a “National Enquirer Hot Corner” segment on the
show, as well as advertising and editorial content about the program in AMI’s Enquirer and Globe print publications and websites.

David Pecker, AMI’s
chairman and CEO, said: "This innovative partnership gives us the chance
to reach out to a growing market of game-related programming on national
network television. We are excited about this deal and believe it will further
our efforts to promote our publications through new [media]."

Starface, which premiered August 1, has contestants compete
against each other to test their knowledge of celebrity gossip. In the “hot
corner” segment, Bonaduce asks questions based on a provocative celebrity
photo. Bonaduce will urge viewers to purchase the Enquirer on the program, and co-branded promotional spots
for AMI’s magazines will run on the network.

The Enquirer will run a Starface editorial column and the Globe will have TV sections that will run every other for
week for 10 weeks beginning with the show’s debut.
