Grindon Exits Sony

CULVER CITY: Michael Grindon is stepping down from his role as the president of international at Sony Pictures Television next month after more than two decades with the studio.

“After 24 years managing the international television business for SPE, I believe that it is time for a change," Grindon said. "We are finishing this year with strong growth, an experienced, talented management team in place and a clear vision for future success. Now is the right moment for me to move on to the next challenge.”

Joining Sony in 1986, Grindon was tapped as the president of Sony Pictures International Television (SPTI) in 1995. Last year, the international business was merged with the U.S. operations under Sony Pictures Television, which is led by Steve Mosko as president of SPT. Grindon, Mosko said, "has built a terrific team of international executives who will ensure continued strong business performance in the future."

Grindon "created our international television business from the ground up,” added Michael Lynton, the chairman and CEO of Sony Picture. “In recent years, under the leadership of Michael and his team, we’ve seen steady growth in international television, which has been particularly significant to the entire studio.”
