Grey’s Anatomy Takes Top TCA Award

LOS ANGELES, July 24: At the Television Critics Association
Awards last night, NBC dominated with four awards, but it was ABC’s Grey’s
Anatomy
that took the night’s top prize of
Program of the Year.

NBC’s wins included Outstanding
New Program of the Year for the hit comedy My Name is Earl, and two wins for The Office—Outstanding Achievement in Comedy and Individual
Achievement in Comedy for star Steve Carell. In addition, The West Wing picked up The Heritage Award.

ABC took home two awards, one for Grey’s Anatomy as Program of the Year and the other for Lost in the Outstanding
Achievement in Drama, for the second year in a row. FOX picked up one award for
Individual Achievement in Drama for Hugh Laurie in House.

In the movies, mini-series and
specials category, the winner was PBS’s American Masters: Bob Dylan — No
Direction Home
. The public broadcaster
also won for Outstanding Achievement in News & Information with Frontline. And Disney Channel’s mega-hit High School Musical was the winner for Outstanding Achievement in Children’s
Programming.

The 22nd annual TCA Awards were
held at The Ritz Carlton Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, California. The Television
Critics Association is composed of more than 200 reporters and columnists in
print media from the United States and Canada.
