Grey’s Anatomy Gets Colombian Treatment

MIAMI: Production is under way in Bogotá, Colombia, on a Latin American version of ABC Studios’ hit medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, to be titled A Corazón Abierto (An Open Heart).

The reversioned script was adapted by Fernando Gaitán, who wrote Colombia’s Yo Soy Betty, La Fea, the original Ugly Betty. A Corazón Abierto will be produced with 80 original episodes that will air daily. The series includes more than 40 replicated hospital sets from the original U.S. version, which premiered on ABC in 2005.

The cast is headlined by Rafael Novoa, Carolina Gómez, Jorge Enrique Abello and Jorge Cao. A Corazón Abierto is a production of Disney Media Networks Latin America, with executive producer Leonardo Aranguibel, and is produced by Vista Productions for RCN of Colombia.
