Granada Sells Drama Series to VRT

LONDON, January 16: Granada International has scored a slot
for its drama series Heartbeat in
Belgium via a deal with VRT.

The broadcaster will air the series three times a week on
its main channel, Een, beginning in February. The series is based on the Constable
books by Nicholas Rhea, and follows a team
of local police officers who solve a string of crimes in a beautiful
countryside community with the atmosphere and music of the 1960s.

“We are
delighted to have acquired such a successful series from Granada
International,” said Jean-Philip De Tender, the channel manager for Een. “Its
great story lines and blend of romance and period styling make it a much loved
show wherever it airs. We are looking forward to sharing the series with our
viewers in Belgium.”

Andre
Renaud, the sales executive at Granada International who brokered the deal,
added, “I am thrilled that Heartbeat has found its natural home in Belgium on Een.
This fantastic family drama has a wide appeal and I am certain of its success
for VRT.”
