Granada International Licenses Film Classics into Germany

LONDON, February 22: Granada International has licensed more
than 30 classic feature films from the Rank, ITC and Romulus libraries to
ProSiebenSat.1 Media’s pay-TV channel kabel eins classics for broadcast this
year.

Titles acquired for the channel, which launched last June,
include classic comedies from the Carry On… series featuring a range of comic legends such as Sid
James, Frankie Howerd and Kenneth Williams; as well as two titles from the Doctor
series—Doctor At Large and Doctor In The House starring Dirk Bogarde. The package also grants the channel
the rights to The Importance of Being Earnest starring Michael Redgrave, The Million Pound Note starring Gregory Peck and The Wrong Arm of the Law starring Peter Sellers.

films include North West Frontier starring
Lauren Bacall, The Long Duel starring
Trevor Howard and Yul Brynner, Vendetta For The Saint starring Sir Roger Moore, The League of Gentlemen with Lord Richard Attenborough and the Oscar-winning Great
Expectations
starring Sir John Mills.

kabel eins classics broadcasts a broad range of
international classic movies and series of all genres from the 1940s to the
1990s as well as European productions.

Toby Melling, the VP of sales at Granada International,
noted: “Our feature film collection continues to prove popular with
international broadcasters and this particular deal will allow them to be
broadcast on a channel ideally suited in terms of style, content and audience.
