Globo, SIC in Production Pact

SÃO PAULO: TV Globo and Portugal’s SIC have announced a two-year co-production agreement, with the first telenovela to come out of the deal already in pre-production.

The pact anticipates the production of two telenovelas in Portugal. Both Globo and SIC will be involved in the creation and production stages. For the first project, Caminho da Felicidade, Aguinaldo Silva will be responsible for text supervision, and Guilherme Bokel, Globo’s head of international production, is associate executive producer. The novela is written by Pedro Lopez.

"We’re very happy with this deal that confirms our partnership with SIC," said Ricardo Scalamandré, the head of international business at TV Globo. "And we hope to bring creative and quality content to the Portuguese viewers."

“This agreement represents a new and important development at SIC fiction," added Luis Marques, the CEO of SIC. "We’re counting with the extraordinary experience and knowledge of TV Globo. We’re excited with this long term partnership between the two companies."
